10 Months Old!

 Arthur is 10 months old!
Make time stop!!

I don't feel like going back in and rotating this one...rotate your head!

He is just a bundle of fun! He loves to pull himself up and can kind of cruise but not too much. He still only has 2 teeth but refuses any baby food. He wants to feed himself!
His brothers and sister love wrestling and playing with him.
I can't believe he is coming up on his first birthday--the year has gone by so quickly!
We sure do love our Arthur Conan!

Happy Birthday, Cosette!

Cosette is 6 today!

At 6 days old..

At 6 years old...

At 6 years old, Coco loves:
-Beanie Boos
-Horses and Unicorns
-Meat and Cheese
-Dancing
-Coloring
-Clothes and Shoes

Coco is such a fun little girl.  She has loved two things since she was two: stuffed animals and coloring.  That has remained constant, which makes her super easy to please.
This year, we are homeschooling, and she has been doing really great with reading and math. She loves learning about animals. She loves playing with Cash, and she is slowly warming up to her other two brothers, although she mentions a lot that she doesn't like being the only girl.
She is the type of girl who loves to sleep and is out as soon as her head hits the pillow.  She also loves to be around other people constantly and loves being read to--her favorite book this year has been Matilda.
We love her so much and are so happy that she is in our family.  She has to put up with a lot with all the boys in this house :)

                                            Happy Birthday, Cosette!

7 month Fattykins

My Grandma calls Arthur Mr. Fattykins.
It is so cute when she does it.
(She also sometimes calls him Artie, but we'll forgive that)

Mr. Fattykins is 7 1/2 months old already!

He has no teeth! He does not crawl! He does not drool!

He pretty much just sits there and lets people love on him.

We think it's pretty awesome. Even his baby hair has no desire to get anywhere!

He is letting me lay him down awake now and still sleeping through the night.
We love our Fattykins...should we shave his head, though?

Hey! It's been a while!

Well hello there! It has been a while...like 4 months!
No blogging during summer...is a rule I just made up :)
These past 4 months have found us:
--Ending the school year.

Coco graduated from Kindergarten, and there was an actual ceremony.  It was so cute!
Cash and Coco aren't returning to the Montessori school next year, so it was bittersweet.

--Moving out of my parent's house! Granted, we only moved a couple of blocks away...but that's something!

I have struggled getting used to our new place. We don't have a grassy backyard full of trees and hammocks like my parents'. We have a dirt yard surround by broken fence and pit bulls and stray cats and a very grouchy neighbor.
But we have a king-sized bed after years of sleeping on a full size (or futon!) and that makes up for it :)

--Not too many summer activities: visiting family, swimming and sewing lessons, a trip to Arizona...my camera was lost for a while...oops!

--Fox finishing school and finally took his last test (and passed) to become a credentialed teacher! Hooray! He started this week and is teaching 5th grade.

--Lots of random health issues having to do with teeth and poop (separate issues, not related!)

--And lots and lots of loving on this fattykins who is over half a year old already!

Cash and Coco start school tomorrow, and, while I am not looking forward to having the little boys' nap time interrupted by school pick-up, I am looking forward to fall!
Who knows what the next four months will bring (besides a new niece and nephew!!)?

Coco's Legoland Field Trip

Coco's kindergarten class went on a field trip yesterday to Sea Life aquarium and Legoland in Carlsbad.
Fox went with her because he loves her and also...legoes.

They took a regular school bus loaded with 5 years old and no bathroom on it. Very brave!

At the aquarium...Coco loved it much more than Legoland!

So many parents went that Fox only had to chaperone Coco and her best boy bud, Kaleb.  These two call each other Coco-Chocolate and Kaleb-Brownie and have had to be separated due to intense hugging on numerous occasions.

Unfortunately, their bus was late, and they only got 1 hour at Legoland after the aquarium and lunch. So, we'll have to go back. Considering they were on the bus for 6 hours and everyone came back tired and happy, it was a success!

2 1/2 months later...

Arthur is now 2 months old!
(almost 3 months)

Here's a bit about Arthur at 2 months old:
-At the 2 month mark, around 8 weeks, he started sleeping through the night.
He consistently sleeps from about 9 to 4:30 or 5:30 every morning. Quincy still doesn't sleep through the night, so this is a huge blessing.
-He hates tummy time.  He does love to lay down on the sheepskin and look around and then will fall asleep.
-He is my most mellow baby so far. At this age, Quincy was super wiggly; Cash was super moody; and Cosette was very giggly.  Those traits have held true, so hopefully Arthur stays mellow!

That's pretty much all you can say about a two month old with no mobility.
Meanwhile, blogging has been the last thing I've wanted to do with my precious free time.  I have been reading a lot while holding a sleeping baby, and there is nothing better!

My sister had a baby boy last week, and I'm so excited that Arthur has a cousin so close in age and another cousin coming in October. Three of my close friends have either had or are having a baby this year, too.
Baby times are good good times :)

Arthur is here!

Arthur Conan Ellis is here!

He entered the world on Groundhogs' Day just as mommy reached 41 weeks.
Thanks for that, buddy! I did not want to be induced :)
And he wanted to stay face-up the entire time, but it was okay.  We got to the hospital at 11, and he was born at 3:30.  I really wanted an afternoon baby after having the others in the middle of the night, and it made a huge difference--we both got sleep the first night!

I told Fox that this baby wasn't coming until he had a name.  We decided on a name three days before he was born.
We chose Arthur Conan for a few reasons.
1.) His initials are A.C.E. which we loved.
2.) Fox can call him "Thor" for short if he must :)
3.) We love the meaning of his name. Arthur means "strong as a bear" and Conan means "little wolf". Love that!
4.) We always like a literary reference, and this one is an obvious one but incidental...Arthur Conan Doyle is the author of Sherlock Holmes.

Enjoying the Grandparents!

Quincy has been so great with Arthur! He has been super happy all week and loves to hold and kiss "baby Ars-ur".

It is amazing how quickly babies change in a week!  Here is Arthur at a week old!:

So far, Arthur is a very mellow baby and a great eater. The week has gone by so smoothly. We are so happy to have him in our family!

Quincy is 2!

 Quincy turned 2 today!

He didn't really get that it was his birthday, but he still had fun!

We celebrated yesterday, because it was a holiday and technically his real birthday (he
was born in Japan, so on his actual birth day there, he was also born the day before in the U.S. Awesome...or confusing?)

He wanted a pinata, and then he was totally terrified of it. This is him trying to get away from that thing--I think it was the Angry Bird face.

Quincy loves anything to do with sports balls, so he got a football cake!
I am laughing because he blew the candle out in the middle of the song by basically just whispering at it nonchalantly. It was so underwhelming that it was funny.

The birthday boy with his present, a "baby slide", and his favorite toys.  He sleeps with the football at night and will wander around looking for it if it is not in sight at all times.

We love our Quincy boy. Right now, he loves:
--What does the Fox say? song
--Coco's scooter (Coco's not happy about that one)
--Popsicles, vitamins, and anything sweet
--Also grapefruit
--The song Moon, Moon, Moon by Laurie Berkner
--Playing, puppies, giving hugs, going for walks, and taking naps

I can't believe he is already 2 and about to be a big brother! I'm so glad he is still such a snuggler :)

December, sort of

I was about to do a big long post about our December, but I would rather be in bed right now, honestly.  So, here are a few pictures of our cute kiddos!

Cash, 6 Coco, 5 and Quincy, almost 2

These guys love each other so much (well, Coco is still warming up to Quincy after 2 years but she is a big helper).
I can't believe we will have another little baby in a few short weeks.  I am due on January 26th, but I feel like he will come the first week of February.  I am not in a rush!
We are still working on names and have just decided that we'll see when he gets here, which we have never done before. This will be interesting.
Also interesting will be how Quincy reacts to a baby.  He is pretty demanding right now. And still in diapers. So double fun!
Honestly, though, I am really excited!  It is always so fun to wonder and see who it will be that will join our family!
